HOT TUNA Vinyl Records and CDs: This group began as a spin-off of Jefferson Airplane. Guitarist Jorma Kaukonen and bassist Jack Casady began playing as a duo, performing acoustic blues songs by the likes of Mississippi John Hurt and Reverend Gary Davis. The combination of Kaukenon's authentic Delta-style fingerpicking and Casady's rumbling.

Having greatly enjoyed Hot Tuna's wonderful (though quite horribly named) "Phospherescent Rat" album, i was much looking forward to hearing more of their back catalogue. However, whereas the aforementioned album consists of beautiful, tuneful psychedelic tunes, this album, "Hoppkorv" is a far more heavy rock kind of situation/5(27).

Feb 12,  · What is the best CD version of Hot Tuna's Yellow Fever? It used to be unavailable on CD - it wasn't included in the late '90s reissue campaign - so I still only have my vinyl copy. But now it seems there are two CD versions in print: Esoteric and Culture Factory. In addition, there's a two-fer with Hoppkorv on Arcadia as well as a Japanese edition.
